The President is elected by popular vote for a five-year term.

In the Assembly, 120 members are elected according to the proportional model, whereby the territory of the Republic of Macedonia is divided into 6 election districts determined by Law, each of which selects 20 members of Parliament. The Head of the Assembly is elected by the majority of the Members of the Parliament.
